The Frank and Walters

One of Cork’s greatest ever bands celebrated their third decade on the road, and their classic hit “After All” released in 1992.

The Frank and Walters are a Cork band but their classic Indie hits have charted inside and outside Ireland and they continue to do sell-out tours in England, Europe and the U.S.

The Band members are lead vocal & bass Paul Linehan, drums Ashley Keating, lead guitar Rory Murphy and keyboards Cian Corbett. They have now been presented with Cork Persons of the Month awards for April and their names go forward for possible selection as Cork Persons of the Year at a Gala Awards Lunch next January in the Metropole Hotel, Cork.

Very much Cork’s most recognisable rock band, their music is as relevant today as it was thirty years ago and the groups longevity puts them in a unique category in the music world.

Their epic Cork Anthem “After All” was voted Cork’s favourite song in an online poll organised by Cork City Library in association with Creative Ireland.

“You’ve heard it sung at every function and party in Cork, and in a classic scene on The Young Offenders TV series – indeed when my son got married in New York he wanted a Cork element in the ceremony so “After All” provided that“ said awards organiser Manus O’Callaghan.

Head of RTE Factual Content, Colm O’Callaghan wrote “In many ways, it’s hard to imagine that thirty years have passed since “After All” became a bona fide hit single and The Frank and Walters shared their dressing room at Top Of The Pops with Paul McCartney, and in other ways, it isn’t. Because there’s a timelessness to the great pop songs, and “After All” – like many of the Frank’s songs – is unquestionably one of the great pop songs. Not arrogant, just better, “After All ” is the best of The Frank and Walters, and the Frank and Walters are the very best of us. They stand for everything that sets Cork apart.”

The Frank’s are known as strong ambassadors for Cork and have built up a large catalogue of albums and singles that can be found on their website These records, both new and classic, continue to be big sellers across the world.
